Resin Tree House Aquarium Shelter for Shrimp and Small Fish
I recently added the Resin Tree House Shrimp Cave to my aquarium to see how it would hold up as a primary shelter for my colony. This detailed decor piece is specifically designed to provide a naturalistic sanctuary for small aquatic creatures, and I spent a few weeks monitoring how they interacted with the structure.
Performance & Build Quality
The build quality is impressive, as the resin material feels sturdy and inert in water, ensuring it won't leach chemicals into your tank. Measuring 16x10x7cm, it has a solid weight that prevents it from shifting around during routine maintenance or water flow. The finish is durable, maintaining its structural integrity and look even after prolonged submersion.
Day-to-Day Experience
Setting up the cave was straightforward, requiring nothing more than a quick rinse before placing it directly onto the substrate. My shrimp took to it almost immediately, frequently using the various openings as a safe haven during molting or when they needed to escape the current. It requires very little maintenance, though an occasional scrub with a soft brush keeps the aesthetic looking fresh.
This shelter is an ideal addition for hobbyists maintaining shrimp-only tanks or nano-aquariums who want to provide both safety and a decorative focal point.
Final Thoughts
I am very impressed with this product, earning it a solid 4.5 out of 5 rating for its combination of form and function. For $24.90, it is a worthwhile investment if you want to elevate your tank's landscape while giving your smallest inhabitants the security they deserve.
